Description
Mariel Galdiano, or Coach Mariel, as we know her at First Tee Central Florida, is an incredibly talented, champion golfer and an even better person. Most everyone she meets, including the kids she helps, has no idea she is a professional golfer. It is a testament to her selflessness and modesty.
Mariel is from Pearl City, Hawaii and is a three-time high school state champion. In 2011 at the age of 13 she played in her first U.S. Women’s Open, and in 2024 she played in her sixth, finishing T44. Mariel played her college golf at UCLA and holds the record for the lowest round in UCLA Women’s Golf history with a 62. From 2017 to 2019, she was named Golfweek All-American, Women’s College Golf Association All-American, and First Team All-Pac 12 Conference. In 2018 and 2019 she earned Pac-12 All-Academic honors.
Mariel turned professional in 2020 and will be playing in her second season on the LPGA Tour in 2026. She is passionate and committed to growing the game of golf for all, especially young girls, and giving back to the community that helped her get to where she is today.
